Lauren Renkert is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes the purpose of psychotherapy is to help others find and fulfill their potential. She works primarily with individuals, couples, and families, and can address a variety of concerns, including:

Lauren has over 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist.  Her perspective includes attention to individuals as they relate to others and their environments.  She focuses on strengths as well as concerns and works with people within the context of their own cultural, religious, and spiritual beliefs.  Lauren uses a variety of therapeutic interventions that help people to think, feel, and behave in healthier ways, including, but not limited to, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavior modification, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

Lauren’s therapeutic style is warm, non-judgmental, honest, and direct, with kindness and a touch of humor.

APPOINTMENTS

To schedule an appointment with Lauren, please call 828-265-0190 to leave a message with the answering service regarding the phone numbers and times you can be reached.  Lauren will call you back, usually within 24 hours.

Please cancel appointments by calling 828-265-0190.  Please give at least 24 hours notice when possible.

 

INSURANCE AND PAYMENT

Payments are expected at the time of each office visit, unless other arrangements have been made in advance.  Payment may be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.  If you have insurance, please check with your insurance company to determine if your insurance will cover Lauren as a provider and/or to determine if any pre-authorization for services is required.  Lauren accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BCBS) and will gladly submit a monthly electronic claim for services rendered.  You are responsible for the deductible, co-payments, and any portion of your fee not covered by your BCBS insurance.  If you have BCBS, you may wish to download, print, and complete this form to bring with you to your first appointment:

If you have any other insurance company, payment in full is expected at the time of each office visit and Lauren will provide monthly statements for you to file your own claim.

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Sometimes the erratic weather in the High Country may keep us from meeting for a scheduled appointment.  Please call 828-265-0190 to leave Lauren a message as soon as you know the weather will prevent you from meeting.  Likewise, Lauren will contact you according to your instructions if she is unable to keep an appointment due to weather.
